NewJeans Wins Two Awards at Japan Record Awards... Excellence Award and Special Award
HYBE announced on the 31st that girl group NewJeans won two awards at the 65th Japan Record Awards, a famous Japanese popular music awards ceremony, receiving the Excellent Work Award and the Special Award for their hit song "Ditto."
The Japan Record Awards, hosted by the Japan Composers Association, began in 1959. The Excellent Work Award is given to songs that have gained great popularity among the public and exhibit outstanding artistry, originality, and planning. Recipients of the Excellent Work Award automatically become candidates for the Grand Prize.
Boy group ENHYPEN received the Special International Music Award. BTS and SEVENTEEN have also received the Special International Music Award in the past.

The Grand Prize at the ceremony was awarded to a Japanese artist. The Korea-Japan joint boy group JO1, formed through "Produce 101 Japan Season 1," also received the Excellent Work Award for their song "Trigger."
