Lee Su-jeong "There was a request to run proportionally... but I am attached to Suwon-jeong area"
"Running with the conviction to fight hard"
"Han Dong-hoon, please make innovative decisions"
Professor Lee Soo-jung of the Department of Criminal Psychology at Kyonggi University, who is running in next year's general election as a member of the People Power Party, explained her decision to run in Suwon-jeong, Gyeonggi, a conservative stronghold, saying, "I have always believed that if I want to become a member of the National Assembly, I have to fight really hard and achieve it myself."
In an interview on the 29th with YTN Radio's 'News King Park Ji-hoon,' Professor Lee said, "At first, someone from both the ruling and opposition parties suggested proportional representation, but by nature, I don't think of just being given something for free," adding, "So even though it's difficult now, I chose this place."

Also, in the 2000s, violent crimes frequently occurred in the southwestern region of Gyeonggi, so I chased serial killers, supported the police agency, and testified as an expert in court," adding, "Somehow, I felt like this was my area."
She continued, "After the decision for (Suwon-jeong), some lawmakers I know said, 'It's regrettable that you could only be given this,' but it was my choice," and elaborated, "I decided to run with the thought that it is necessary to be chosen by voters in a region I am attached to."
Professor Lee stated, "I did not run thinking I would become a politician. When you follow cases, you see that there are many gaps in the criminal procedure. Since you have to go to Yeouido to make legislation, I chose to run."

Regarding Han Dong-hoon, the Emergency Response Committee Chairman who is also a 'political newcomer,' Professor Lee said, "I think newcomers have a strong power. I have already felt that the expectations people have when they meet me in the local community are different from those when they meet existing politicians," adding, "I ask Chairman Han to put aside his civil servant career for now and take his first step as a politician with determination, making decisions more firmly and innovatively."
