DL E&C and Partners Create 'Integrated Work Manual'... "Achieving Top Quality"
DL E&C has launched a company-wide high-intensity corporate innovation. As the first step, it announced on the 29th that it is working together with employees and partners to create an 'Integrated Work Manual,' which is fundamental to on-site operations.
Amid increasing uncertainty in the management environment, DL E&C has made a bold move to achieve the highest quality that exceeds customer expectations for survival and leap forward.
In construction projects, defects lead to extended periods due to rework, causing cost pressures and threatening safety and quality. DL E&C has continuously invested company-wide efforts to break this vicious cycle and build a solid foundation that remains resilient even in downturns by pursuing zero-defect activities.
The answer to the highest level of completion and quality is being sought together with partners at the site and in the basics. The plan is to lead industrial changes by breaking down existing construction industry practices and malpractices to innovatively improve productivity, efficiency, and quality levels. To this end, DL E&C is reviewing all trades and tasks from the ground up to secure competitiveness in all areas of the site, including quality, safety, cost, and schedule.
The creation of the Integrated Work Manual aims to never compromise on even the smallest defect and to control all risks and variables. It also pursues establishing DL E&C’s unique 'proper way of working.' DL E&C expects to complete an industry-leading quality management bible by integrating scattered work guidelines and procedures across each site division. It will also establish a process where all partners and on-site workers share this and where both workers and managers handle tasks based on the same standards and principles.
DL E&C plans to use this collaboration as an opportunity for mutual growth by building mid- to long-term partnerships with partners involved in creating the Integrated Work Manual and actively supporting them to secure various business opportunities. In fact, it has formed a task force (TF) team with technical staff from partner companies to listen to opinions on unreasonable practices and inefficiencies and is reviewing alternatives from multiple angles. Through this, the know-how and expertise held by top experts in each trade and task will be reflected in the manual.
In-depth interviews are also being conducted with partner company representatives and site experts who have both practical experience in each trade and management and supervision capabilities. To hear the voices of on-site employees at the staff and assistant manager levels and partners without distortion, an anonymous communication channel has been opened. Over 3,000 people are actively sharing opinions through 75 anonymous communication channels regardless of affiliation or rank, harnessing the power of collective intelligence.
