150 Employees of Daegu Seo-gu Office Collect 'Spare Change Donations' to Deliver Daily Necessities to 100 Low-Income Households
Daegu Seo-gu Office (Mayor Ryu Hanguk) purchased and delivered 8 million KRW worth of daily necessities to 100 low-income households using the monthly salary rounding donation.
The salary rounding donation involves donating the amount less than 10,000 KRW from each monthly salary. This year, about 150 employees voluntarily participated, raising 16.19 million KRW. Of this, 8 million KRW was donated to the Community Chest of Korea, and around 20 types of food and daily necessities such as ramen and curry were delivered to 100 low-income households.

View original imageThe salary rounding donation sharing by Daegu Seo-gu Office employees started in 2013 to share warmth with neighbors through small donations and volunteer activities, and until 2022, they have donated over 65 million KRW. In July this year, they added voluntary contributions from senior officials to the salary rounding donations and delivered 3 million KRW for flood recovery relief in Yecheon-gun.
