Korea Rail Network Authority Announces Development and Private Proposal Contest for 'Railway Idle Land' in Wonju, Gimcheon, and Uiseong
The Korea Rail Network Authority announced on the 27th that it will hold a private proposal contest for the development of railway sites in Wonju, Gimcheon, Uiseong, and other areas, identified as new development project models.
The sites open for private proposals include ▲the former Sillim Station site on the Jungang Line in Wonju, Gangwon Province ▲idle land along the Gyeongbu High-Speed Line in Gimcheon, Gyeongbuk Province ▲and the former Danchon Station site on the Jungang Line in Uiseong, Gyeongbuk Province, all of which are scheduled for railway line closures.
This contest is the first case to be held following the amendment of the Enforcement Decree of the Railway Business Act, which extended the railway land occupancy permit period from 30 to 50 years.
The Rail Network Authority selected new development project models by forecasting internal and external business environments and customer demand, including ▲‘Smart Farm and Regional Specialized Complex Facilities’ in Uiseong, Gyeongbuk ▲‘Leisure Stay Facilities’ in Wonju, Gangwon ▲and a ‘Data Center’ in Gimcheon, Gyeongbuk.
Proposals will be accepted from the 27th of this month until 3:00 PM on March 27 of next year. For more detailed information regarding the contest, please refer to the notices on the Rail Network Authority’s website.
