Jin Hyun-hwan, 1st Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, a 30-Year Veteran Bureaucrat and Real Estate Policy Expert
Jin Hyun-hwan, Director General of the Housing and Land Office at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), aged 58, has been appointed as the First Vice Minister of MOLIT.

View original imageAccording to MOLIT on the 27th, Jin Hyun-hwan, Director General of the Housing and Land Office, was selected as the successor to Kim Oh-jin, the former First Vice Minister of MOLIT.
The newly appointed First Vice Minister Jin is from Gimcheon, Gyeongbuk. He graduated from Gimcheon High School and Yonsei University with a degree in Economics, and earned a master's degree from the University of Birmingham in the UK. He began his public service career by passing the 36th Administrative Examination.
Since then, he has held key positions within the ministry, including Planning Officer, Chief of the Minister’s Secretariat, Director of Urban Policy, Head of the Public Housing Promotion Team, Director of Housing Welfare Policy, Director of Aviation Policy, and MOLIT Spokesperson. After serving at the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Montreal in 2020, he held positions such as Director of Land Policy at MOLIT and Director of the Busan Regional Land Management Office. Since August, he has been serving as the Director General of the Housing and Land Office at MOLIT.
The Yongsan Presidential Office evaluated, "Jin Hyun-hwan, the First Vice Minister, is a real estate policy expert who has served in MOLIT for over 30 years, holding key positions such as Director of Land Policy, Director of Housing Welfare Policy, and Director General of the Housing and Land Office." They added, "He is the right person to steadily promote the Yoon Seok-yeol administration’s national agenda in the real estate sector, including promoting housing supply and strengthening housing stability and welfare."
