Hanwha Co., Ltd. New Employees Take First Step in Society Through Community Service
Hanwha Corporation conducted volunteer activities to distribute heating supplies and kimchi for kimjang to underprivileged groups in the community and support residential environment improvements in celebration of Christmas.
About 40 new employees from Hanwha Corporation’s Construction, Global, and Momentum divisions participated in the volunteer activities. They took part sequentially in three different programs, walking together with the local community and practicing Hanwha Group’s social contribution philosophy of “Together, Far.”
On the 7th, new employees from Hanwha Corporation’s Momentum division made about 100 heads of kimchi for kimjang at Jungtap Comprehensive Social Welfare Center in Seongnam City, to be delivered to low-income families, elderly living alone, and isolated households at risk of food insecurity.
On the 18th, new employees from Hanwha Corporation’s Construction division carried out volunteer activities to improve the residential environment of vulnerable housing in cooperation with Seongdong Disabled Comprehensive Welfare Center in Seoul. They visited homes of disabled families living in poor housing conditions in Seongdong-gu, organized living spaces, and disposed of various clutter. They also delivered groceries and Christmas supplies.
On the same day, new employees from Hanwha Corporation’s Global division also conducted volunteer activities to provide heating supplies and groceries to vulnerable groups. The Global division new employees supported practical winter heating supplies such as heating tents, electric mats, clothing sets, and grocery packages in cooperation with Seongdong Comprehensive Social Welfare Center to help endure the cold winter.
Shin Hyung-seop, an employee of Hanwha Corporation who participated in the volunteer activities, said, “It was rewarding to share warm interest and warmth with neighbors together with my colleagues,” and added, “I will continue to take great interest in and participate in social contribution activities so that I can recall and apply the meaning of sharing even in my work.”
