In this evaluation, LH improved its scores across all ESG areas, achieving 90.26 points, which is 14.04 points higher than the previous year. Accordingly, its grade rose by one level from BB last year to A this year.
LH emphasized that this recognition is meaningful as it publicly acknowledges the efforts made since declaring last year as the inaugural year of ESG management. After establishing an ESG management strategy, LH has worked to set up a dedicated organization and form its own ESG council to build an ESG management system, and this year, it implemented 45 tasks to practice citizen-centered ESG management.
LH also announced that it held the '2nd LH ESG Best Practices Contest' for all departments this month and selected a total of 14 projects. The grand prize went to the project titled 'International Greenhouse Gas Reduction Linked to Residential Environment Improvement in Slum Areas of Pakistan.' Through this project, LH will improve the residential environment in slum areas of developing countries while acquiring 1.34 million tons of carbon credits (66.9 billion KRW) over the next 10 years.
LH plans to reduce 2.88 million tons of greenhouse gases by 2032 through zero-energy city and housing construction and 100% digital transformation of public services.
