The evaluation covered six areas of infectious disease management (COVID-19 response, infectious disease prevention and control, vaccination enhancement, emergency medical response, and major government policies), where the centers received excellent ratings.
Nam-gu Public Health Center became a model case for other cities and counties by sharing Pohang’s unique know-how and experience through an excellent case presentation on managing infection-vulnerable facilities to protect high-risk groups within the infectious disease management sector. Buk-gu Public Health Center was recognized as an excellent case through active promotional projects such as proper handwashing education and campaigns.
Additionally, Nam-gu Public Health Center won the Grand Prize in the newly introduced Metaverse New Infectious Disease Response Evaluation by vividly simulating infectious disease response drills in infection-vulnerable facilities, utilizing virtual space for new infectious disease response education for private and public institutions.
Notably, at this achievement conference, Nam-gu and Buk-gu Public Health Centers received the Grand Prize and Excellence Award respectively, earning the honor of being the top institutions for three consecutive years.
