Gyeonggi Fire Department Strengthens Support for Foreign Fire Victims... Operates '119 Help Call'
The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters is operating the ‘119 Help Call’ to support foreigners affected by fire damage.
On the 24th, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced that when frontline fire stations report fire damage involving foreigners, the headquarters' fire investigation team will operate the ‘119 Help Call’ to provide prompt assistance.
The 119 Help Call coordinates with local governments, the Korean Red Cross, and other related organizations to provide psychological recovery support, while the multicultural volunteer fire brigade offers interpretation services and assists in rapid recovery efforts.
Jo Sun-ho, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, explained, "Foreign residents in the province face language barriers and lack information on disaster prevention and recovery processes. Since most foreigners affected by fires share relief supplies, interpretation support, and related information through foreign communities, we decided to operate this Foreign Fire Victim Support Center."
