Yuntae Lee, CEO of LX Semicon, Appointed as the 27th President of KAIST Alumni Association
KAIST (President Kwang Hyung Lee) announced on the 22nd that Yoon Tae Lee (63), CEO of LX Semicon, has been appointed as the 27th President of the KAIST Alumni Association.
New President Yoon Tae Lee earned his master's degree (1985) and doctorate (1994) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from KAIST. He joined Samsung Electronics in 1985 and established himself as a semiconductor design expert. Since 2014, he has managed Samsung Electro-Mechanics, leading the company to achieve an operating profit of 1 trillion won for the first time in its history through his insight into the components business and bold business decisions.
President Lee is recognized as a figure with extensive corporate management experience as well as outstanding capabilities and expertise in the components business, including semiconductors. He assumed the position of CEO of LX Semicon last November.

Yoon Tae Lee stated, “KAIST has been the driving force and foundation for the growth of Korea’s industrial sector through advanced science and technology development,” adding, “Beyond fostering camaraderie among alumni, I will establish the role of the Alumni Association to create new value for the development of our alma mater.”
