470 Additional Jeonse Fraud Victims Recognized... Total 10,256
The 17th Jeonse Fraud Victim Support Committee
An additional 470 victims have been recognized as eligible for support under the Special Act on Jeonse Fraud Victim Support.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 20th that at the 17th plenary meeting of the 'Jeonse Fraud Victim Support Committee' held the previous day, 470 out of 649 victim determination applications were approved.
84 cases that did not meet the victim criteria under the Special Act were rejected, and 72 cases where the tenants had subscribed to the Jeonse Deposit Return Guarantee Insurance or received the highest priority repayment allowing full deposit return were excluded from victim recognition.
Among the agenda items, there were a total of 44 appeals, of which 21 cases were re-evaluated and reconfirmed as Jeonse fraud victims or victims after additional verification of eligibility.
As a result, since the enforcement of the Special Act on Jeonse Fraud Victim Support on June 1, the total number of victims recognized by the Victim Support Committee has increased to 10,256. Emergency auction suspension cooperation requests approved totaled 755 cases (cumulative).
Tenants who received a notice of non-recognition or were determined as Jeonse fraud victims, etc. (under Article 2, Clause 4, Subparagraphs Na or Da of the Special Act) may file an appeal, and even if the appeal is dismissed, they can seek relief through reapplication if circumstances change in the future.

Tenants experiencing difficulties due to Jeonse fraud can apply for victim determination at the competent city or provincial office of their residence. Those determined as victims through the committee’s resolution can receive guidance on support measures through the Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) Jeonse Victim Support Center and its branches.
