On the 19th, the HD Hyundai 1% Sharing Foundation announced that it held the 1st HD Hyundai Honor Awards ceremony at the HD Hyundai Global R&D Center Asan Hall, attended by HD Hyundai Chairman Kwon Oh-gap and Vice Chairman Jung Ki-sun, among others.
The HD Hyundai Honor Awards is a newly established award by the HD Hyundai 1% Sharing Foundation this year, aiming to discover and support citizen heroes dedicated to helping neighbors in need, thereby spreading positive influence within our society. This year, winners were selected in four categories: Grand Prize, Excellence Award for Organizations, Excellence Award for Individuals, and the 1% Sharing Award, with a total prize money of 300 million KRW awarded.
The Grand Prize was awarded to the "Faceless Angel," who has anonymously donated money every year since 2000 to help marginalized groups in Jeonju City. Over the past 23 years, the Faceless Angel has donated a total of approximately 880 million KRW to the local community. The Faceless Angel was also selected as the recipient of the 1% Sharing Award through voting by HD Hyundai employees, adding further significance.
Respecting the Faceless Angel’s wishes, the HD Hyundai 1% Sharing Foundation delivered the prize money and plaque through the Nosong-dong Community Service Center in Jeonju City, and the entire prize money of 200 million KRW will be used for projects supporting marginalized groups.
Additionally, the Excellence Award for Organizations was given to the private medical group "Open Medical Society," and the Excellence Award for Individuals was awarded to Dr. Yoon Joo-hong, who has volunteered by providing free and discounted medical care to marginalized groups. Each recipient received prize money of 50 million KRW.
Kwon Oh-gap, Chairman of the HD Hyundai 1% Sharing Foundation, said, "Thanks to the heroes who dedicate themselves in unseen places, we realize that our society becomes warmer," and added, "The HD Hyundai 1% Sharing Foundation will continue to strive to help neighbors in need."
