Gwangju Seo-gu, 'Human Library' Exhibition from 20th to 22nd
Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) will hold a publication exhibition and commemorative ceremony for ‘By My Side Seo-gu, Human Library_If We Walk Together, It Becomes a Path,’ which contains the records of 31 people whose lives have become a book and whose village has become a library.
According to Seo-gu on the 19th, ‘By My Side Seo-gu, Human Library’ is a book that records the experiences of 31 village activists in Seo-gu who have devoted passionate efforts to the village community.
It also explores the roles of village activists and the changes they are bringing about in the village through six fields: ▲Resident Autonomy·BI ▲Education and Care ▲Culture and Arts ▲Ecology and Environment ▲Apartment Community ▲2023 Seo-gu Village Learning University.
In particular, this record is not a simple list of activities but contains interviews with each village activist about the difficulties they faced, moments of overcoming them, deep lessons learned through successes and failures, and future activity plans.
The exhibition will be held on the first floor of Seo-gu Office from the 20th to the 22nd, and a publication commemorative ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on the 21st on the first floor of Seo-gu Office to encourage the village activists.
The book will be distributed free of charge at the administrative welfare centers of 18 neighborhoods in Seo-gu and the Seo-gu Village Community Support Center.
Jung Eechun, Director of the Seo-gu Village Community Support Center, said, “We will support the senior village activists, who can become mentors for future village activities, to grow further by sharing the accumulated experiences, knowledge, and thoughts of the 31 village activists.”
