Anseong Iljuk·Juksan Terminal Remodeled into a 'Bus Lounge'
Installation of Heating and Cooling Systems, Seat Replacement... Real-Time Traffic Information Also Provided
On the 19th, Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it began operating the remodeled old Iljuk Terminal and Juksan Terminal as 'Bus Lounges' starting from the 18th.
The two terminals, previously operated by the private sector, serve as key terminals for intercity and city buses connecting major areas in the metropolitan area. Although the facilities had become outdated due to a decline in passengers and worsening management, making improvements necessary, they were not classified as passenger car terminals under the Passenger Transport Service Act, which made financial support difficult.
To create the bus lounges, the city signed a free-use lease agreement with private operators and proceeded with remodeling the waiting rooms and restrooms. Through the remodeling, the city replaced chairs inside the bus lounges and installed heating, cooling, and air purifiers. The lounges also provide real-time traffic information, and starting next year, cleaning services will be conducted five times a week.
