A woman crossing the road on her way to work in Changwon, Gyeongnam, was hit by a car and died.
According to the Changwon Seobu Police Station on the 18th, at around 6:56 a.m. that day, Ms. A was crossing the road near the Dongjeon Industrial Complex bus stop in Buk-myeon, Uichang-gu, Changwon City, when she was struck by a vehicle driven by a man in his 30s, Mr. B.
Ms. A, who was crossing from the right to the left side of the vehicle's direction, was hit by the front bumper of the car, sustaining serious injuries. She was transported to the hospital but ultimately passed away.
The driver, Mr. B, was found not to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
The police are investigating the exact cause of the accident based on the driver's statement, CCTV footage from the accident site, and the vehicle's black box video, including whether the pedestrian crossed illegally and if the vehicle was speeding.
