SM Steel Wins Grand Prize in Construction Category at '2023 Safety Management Awards'
SM Steel Construction Division, a subsidiary of SM Group (hereinafter SM Steel), announced on the 18th that it won the Grand Prize in the Construction Category at the '2023 Safety Management Awards' hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor on the 15th.

The Safety Management Awards is a commendation system established to prioritize the prevention of industrial accidents in the workplace, contributing to the enhancement of safety awareness and the expansion of safety management system establishment and operation.
SM Steel achieved a zero accident fatality rate (0.0 per mille) over 13 years and obtained the ISO 45001 certification for its occupational health and safety management system, gaining internal and external recognition for the excellence of its safety and health management system, which led to winning the Safety Management Grand Prize.
Additionally, SM Steel objectively demonstrated the excellence of its environmental management system operation through ISO 14001 certification, and through eco-friendly design and ESG management, it has achieved results such as reducing waste generation by approximately 25% annually and reducing carbon emissions by about 30% annually.
