Wando-gun Wins Excellence Award at 'Export Agriculture Competition'
CEO Kim Se-yoon of Haneulso Corporation Recognized for Excellence in High-Quality Rice and Field Business Performance
Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Shin Woo-cheol) announced on the 18th that Kim Se-yoon, CEO of Haneulso Corporation, who was selected as the representative of Jeollanam-do at the ‘Export Agriculture Excellence Case Competition’ hosted by the Rural Development Administration on the 12th, received an excellence award in recognition of his achievements in promoting government policy projects such as cultivating and exporting the highest quality rice and cultivating powdered rice through the Deulnyeok community project.
The Export Agriculture Excellence Case Competition awards cities and counties that have achieved outstanding export results by implementing various projects targeting farmers, corporations, and agricultural cooperatives every year. This year, seven cities and counties nationwide advanced to the finals.

Kim Se-yoon of Wando-gun participated in the highest quality rice contract cultivation and export complex project, playing a role as a production complex exporting Wando rice. He also actively participated in various government projects such as the powdered rice project, Korean wheat contract cultivation, and the Deulnyeok community project, contributing to increased farmers' income and agricultural development, which was recognized with an excellence award.
Kim Se-yoon, CEO of Haneulso Corporation, said, “This award has once again made me realize that effort pays off and has become an opportunity to gain confidence and hope for Wando agriculture.” He added, “I will take the lead in ensuring that Wando agriculture develops further without falling behind other cities and counties and that many farmers can earn stable income.”
Meanwhile, Wando-gun began exporting its county brand rice, ‘Jayeon Geudaero Mi,’ to Malaysia (12 tons) in 2018, followed by the United States (8 tons) in 2019, and Russia (157 tons) in 2020. To date, it has exported a total of 177 tons over 13 occasions.
In particular, an agreement was signed to export 1,000 tons (approximately 3 billion KRW) over 10 years to Sakhalin Oblast, Russia, starting in 2022. In addition to rice, six types of processed agricultural products, including loquat wine, yuzu jelly sticks, colored barley coffee, and abalone loquat beverages, were exported to China in November, and an export agreement worth 20 billion KRW over the next five years was signed.
