Chung-Ang University and Chiang Mai University in Thailand signed an MOU for student and academic exchange and held a joint hackathon competition.
On the 17th, Chung-Ang University announced that its Virtual Convergence College, a leader in the fields of metaverse and immersive media, recently signed a business agreement with the College of Arts, Media and Technology (CAMT) at Chiang Mai University in Thailand.
Wi Jeong-hyun, Dean of the Virtual Convergence College at Chung-Ang University, personally attended the signing ceremony held at Chiang Mai University. Dean Wi met with Warait Chanchai, Dean of CAMT at Chiang Mai University, and agreed to promote mutual development through cooperation in curriculum development and academic seminars.
Building on this agreement, the two universities plan to strengthen their strategic partnership by developing new educational programs including micro-degrees, student exchanges, academic information exchange, joint lectures, and hosting startup competitions.
As the first step in establishing the cooperation system, during his visit to Chiang Mai University, Dean Wi led a hackathon competition jointly hosted by the two universities. A hackathon is a competition that combines hacking and marathon, where participants gather in a limited space to produce results within a short period. Professors Moon Jae-cheol, Kim Kyu-hyun, and Kim Tae-ha from Chung-Ang University’s Virtual Convergence College also participated in the event to guide students from both countries through the hackathon process. The 20 students from Chung-Ang University and Chiang Mai University formed teams to create content and apps.
