The Sustainable Management Meritorious Government Awards are given to organizations that actively practice social responsibility through sustainable management and contribute to enhancing industrial competitiveness through exemplary management activities. It began in 2006 as the 'Sustainable Management Grand Prize,' was renamed the 'Korea Beloved Company Government Award' in 2013, and changed to its current name in 2020. The award ceremony for the '2023 Sustainable Management Meritorious Government Awards,' hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Productivity Center, was held at the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) Tower in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, where Hotel Shilla received the Prime Minister's Commendation.
The main evaluation criteria for the Sustainable Management Meritorious Government Awards include achievements in environment, social, and governance-based sustainable management and performance in implementing national policy tasks. Hotel Shilla was recognized for its contributions such as launching the eco-friendly slogan 'The Green, The Shilla,' conducting campaigns to spread eco-friendly consumption culture, and various shared growth activities that promote development together with partners and local communities.
