Former Presidential Office Administrator Bae Cheol-soon Announces Candidacy for Changwon Uichang National Assembly Seat
Former Baek Cheol-soon, administrative officer of the Office of Political Affairs at President Yoon Seok-yeol's office, has declared his candidacy for the 22nd National Assembly election in Uichang-gu, Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam.
On the 14th, former administrative officer Bae held a press conference at Changwon City Hall Press Center and announced that he would run as a preliminary candidate for the People Power Party in next year's Uichang-gu National Assembly election.
Introducing himself as "a son of Changwon, my hometown," he emphasized that he is a native of Uichang-gu, having grown up in Dongjeong-dong and Dogye-dong, and attended Changwon Elementary, Changwon Middle, and Changwon High School.
“Since joining the Grand National Party as a party official in 2005, I have worked only in key departments of the party responsible for planning and strategy, including the People Power Party's Party Audit Office, Yeouido Research Institute's Public Opinion Survey Office, and the Presidential Office,” he said. “I have devoted myself to the president and the nation, and now I have returned for my hometown.”

Candidate Bae emphasized, “Currently, Changwon has seen more than 3,500 young people leave over the past five years, and the population is decreasing to the point where it might have to give up its status as a special city.” He stressed, “Change is necessary to make it a high-tech industrial city where young people gather again, industries flourish, and tax revenues are abundant.”
He said, “To create a young economic city where companies and talents gather in Changwon, I will take the first step toward the airport railway connecting Changwon and Gadukdo, linking the sky route.”
He also pledged to lead support and investment for the early establishment of specialized clusters in the defense industry and nuclear industry to achieve the fourth manufacturing industry innovation.
He promised bold educational investment attraction such as establishing a specialized department for the defense industry, preparing a dense and safe care infrastructure (social foundation) policy, and building an integrated mental health support infrastructure covering all generations from depression to dementia.

Candidate Bae appealed for support, saying, “I will not make impossible promises and will focus on what is truly necessary for the future.” He added, “I will announce more detailed pledges for the future and development of Uichang, so please watch closely.”
