This AI Convergence Expansion Performance Report was organized to share and disseminate the excellent achievements of AI convergence projects. Dr. Kim Eunghee, who received the NIPA President Award, was recognized for her contributions to the development of digital health industry technologies by producing results such as developing four medical AI software (SW) products through the Doctor Answer 2.0 project.
Dr. Kim’s representative research achievements include four medical AI software products in the fields of hypertension and skin diseases. In the hypertension field, there are ▲home blood pressure analysis software that predicts future blood pressure 1 to 4 weeks ahead based on patients’ home blood pressure recorded over 8 weeks, and ▲two hypertension-related complication prediction software products that predict the likelihood of heart and brain diseases, which have high incidence rates among hypertensive patients.
In the skin disease field, there are ▲skin cancer image detection and diagnostic assistance software that differentiates skin cancer in suspected patients, and ▲hair density analysis software that supports hair loss treatment planning by analyzing hair density on shaved scalp areas.
LifeSemantics is currently conducting confirmatory clinical trials for the home blood pressure analysis software, skin cancer image detection and diagnostic assistance software, and hair density analysis software, expecting to complete the clinical trials by the end of this year or early next year. The company explained that the skin cancer image detection and diagnostic assistance software is particularly notable as there have been no previous cases of product approval for this type of software.
Precision medicine is a technology that predicts the risk of specific diseases by utilizing clinical data collected in hospitals, innate genomic data, and life log data generated in daily life. LifeSemantics’ medical AI comprehensively uses these three types of data, applying time-series data analysis technology and image data analysis technology to improve diagnostic and predictive accuracy.
Dr. Kim Eunghee of LifeSemantics said, "With the recent establishment of health insurance fees for AI medical devices and the institutional foundation enabling new medical technologies to be used in the field, I am pleased that our medical AI research and development achievements have been recognized." She added, "We will successfully complete the confirmatory clinical trials for the three ongoing medical AI products and further enhance LifeSemantics’ competitiveness in medical AI."
