Tesla Recalls 2 Million Vehicles to Fix 'Autopilot' Issue
Tesla has decided to recall 2 million vehicles to address the potential misuse of its autonomous driving assistance system, 'Autopilot,' Bloomberg reported on the 13th (local time).
According to the report, this recall targets vehicles produced between October 5, 2012, and December 7 of this year. This means almost all Tesla vehicles sold in the United States are subject to the recall.
This recall follows the determination by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that sufficient measures were not in place to prevent the misuse of Autopilot. NHTSA began an investigation in 2021 after frequent incidents of Tesla vehicles operating with Autopilot colliding with emergency vehicles and others.
