“First winter on site, is the construction site safe?”
On the 13th, Park Jong-gil, Director of the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service, inspected the construction site of the Ulsan Industrial Accident Specialized Public Hospital, conducting a 'Winter Safety and Health' check to ensure the safety and health protection of subcontractor workers.
Since his inauguration in May, Director Park Jong-gil, who has drawn up a future blueprint for the corporation, visited the Ulsan hospital construction site to inspect safety and health management at the construction site under the management motto of ‘Contributing to the protection and happiness of working life.’
The construction of the Ulsan Industrial Accident Specialized Public Hospital is facing its first winter. Director Park reviewed the progress on site and personally took care of the safety and health of the workers as the head of a leading public institution promoting worker welfare.

View original imageThe corporation explained, “The director inspected the work environment with a professional perspective on safety and health cultivated through long experience in public service and listened to the difficulties faced by the workers.”
They also stated, “Health management education on cold-related diseases and cardiovascular diseases during winter, as well as consultations with health experts, were conducted together.”
Director Park also comforted the on-site staff by providing snacks and beverages and delivered personal cold-weather gear and safety equipment, urging them to pay close attention to safety.
The corporation plans to continuously conduct quarterly safety inspections throughout the entire construction process to establish a ‘zero-accident and safety culture’ and will install an ‘Intelligent CCTV system for construction sites’ as a smart safety management system to prevent industrial accidents.
Director Park Jong-gil said, “I hope to invest generously in safety and realize the new vision of ‘adding peace of mind and stability to the workplace’ at the Ulsan hospital site as well.”
Since holding the groundbreaking ceremony in March at the construction site of the Ulsan Industrial Accident Specialized Public Hospital located in Beomseo-eup, Ulju-gun, Ulsan City, the corporation has been carrying out civil engineering works such as dewatering and excavation, and will begin geothermal and framework construction from the end of December.

The plan is to complete the construction by 2025 and aim for completion and opening the following year.
