Changwon Special City Holds Award Ceremony for Changwon Tourism Photo National Contest

Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the award ceremony for the '2023 Changwon Tourism Photography National Contest' in the meeting room on the 2nd floor of the City Hall Annex 2.
Hosted by the city and organized by the Jinhae branch of the Korea Photographers Association, this biennial contest aims to promote Changwon's excellent tourism resources and attractions nationwide, develop diverse promotional content, and enhance the city's tourism image.
At the award ceremony held on the 11th, the grand prize was awarded to No Oejeom for the work titled 'Festival Night.' The silver prizes went to Choi Giseon for 'Robot Land and Sunset' and Lee Heesoon for 'Beautiful Jinhae.' The bronze prizes were awarded to Lee Hocheol for 'Afternoon at Junam,' Hwang Doyeon for 'City Parade 1,' and Seo Sehyung for 'Spring Picnic.' Additionally, 65 works received honorable mentions.
The contest, held over a month from October 10 to November 10, received 441 submissions from across the country. On November 18, the Changwon Tourism Photography National Contest judging committee, composed of five photography experts, selected the winners based on criteria including tourism promotional value, usability, originality, and artistry.
The city will hold an exhibition of the winning works in the central hall on the 1st floor of Changwon City Hall's main building until the 20th.

Jo Myeongrae, the 2nd Deputy Mayor, said, "Seeing the winning works that fit this year's contest theme, 'The Beginning of Excitement, Go Visit and Stay in Changwon,' I felt that our city's tourist spots, mountains, sea, and festivals can evoke new interest and stimulate curiosity through the artists' perspectives." He added, "The winning works will be widely used as images promoting Changwon tourism through the Changwon city website, expos, and tourism promotional materials."
