The signing ceremony held at Starfield Hanam was attended by Oh Yoo-kyung, Commissioner of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, Shinsegae Property CEO Lim Young-rok, and other officials from both organizations, who joined hands to prevent food poisoning and create a safe dining environment.
Through this MOU, Shinsegae Property plans to closely cooperate with the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety to strengthen food safety management to a higher level, providing safer and healthier food and shopping environments.
Starting with this MOU, both parties will collaborate to promote hygiene grade designation, prevent food poisoning, improve restaurant hygiene standards, and conduct public awareness campaigns. The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety will actively support necessary technical assistance for food poisoning prevention, food safety, and improvement of restaurant hygiene standards.
Shinsegae Property will actively promote and encourage the 'Hygiene Grade Designation' for food and beverage stores within retail outlets, providing customers with hygiene grade information and guaranteeing their choice to enjoy safe food. The 'Restaurant Hygiene Grade System' is a system by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety that evaluates the hygiene status of restaurants and designates three grades to excellent establishments scoring 80 points or higher, publicly disclosing and promoting them. Designated hygiene grade establishments receive benefits such as hygiene grade certificates and signs, and support for facility and equipment renovation using the Food Promotion Fund. Customers can choose hygienic restaurants designated by a credible institution and use them with confidence.
