Naver Pay On-site Payment Available in 65 Countries and Regions Abroad
Events of Various Kinds Also Held in Japan
On-site payment with Naver Pay is now available in 65 countries and regions overseas.
Naver Financial announced on the 7th that it will add 23 countries, including Canada, Indonesia, T?rkiye, and New Zealand, to the list of countries where the overseas UnionPay merchant QR on-site payment service of the simple payment service Naver Pay is available.
As a result, on-site payment with Naver Pay is now possible at UnionPay merchants in a total of 33 countries and regions across Asia, the Americas, and Europe, including China and Japan. Since last September, Naver Pay has been gradually expanding the countries and regions where on-site payment is available through payment partnerships with UnionPay and Alipay Plus. With this service expansion, the total number of overseas countries and regions where Naver Pay on-site payment is provided now reaches 65 worldwide (some overlapping partnership regions with UnionPay and Alipay Plus).
To use the service, switch to the overseas payment method on the ‘QR Payment’ service screen within the Naver Pay app or the Naver app. Payments can be made using Naver Pay Money and points without the need for currency exchange. If the balance of Money or points is insufficient, the linked account in Naver Pay will be automatically charged and payment completed. As with the domestic on-site payment service, the ‘Point Draw’ benefit is also provided after payment.

Naver Pay is also running an on-site payment event in Japan until the end of the year. Until the 31st of this month, in Japan, customers who make their first on-site payment of 2,000 KRW or more (at UnionPay and Alipay Plus merchants) will receive 2,000 points; 10% points will be accumulated on Naver Pay X UnionPay payment amounts (up to 5,000 KRW per transaction, limited to 10 times); and five people who upload photos of their Naver Pay X UnionPay payments on Instagram will be selected by lottery to receive 100% point payback of their December Naver Pay X UnionPay payment amount in Japan (up to 1,000,000 KRW).
