21 Years Since Entering the Korean Market
On the 7th, Korea GM announced that it has surpassed 10 million cumulative exports of completed vehicles. It took 21 years since its launch in Korea in October 2002. It achieved 1 million exports in 2005 and 5 million in 2011. To commemorate the achievement of 10 million exports, Hector Vizarral, President of Korea GM, and employees attended a ceremony at the Bupyeong headquarters. President Vizarral stated, "The achievement of 10 million cumulative exports is thanks to the hard work and dedication of our employees who have done their best to continuously supply the highest quality products to customers who trust and love GM vehicles."
He added, "In fact, GM accounted for about 20% of domestic passenger car exports last October, and this figure once again emphasizes that GM's Korea operations play an important role as part of GM's global growth strategy."
