The Re:Think Journey project is a relay event held at each business location initiated by Lotte Hotel & Resort with the goal of promoting a sustainable travel culture. In August, it kicked off by consecutively signing memorandums of understanding (MOUs) focused on waste reduction with Jeju Tourism Organization and ESG startup Jeclin.
The four hotels, resorts, and golf courses in the Jeju area (Lotte Hotel Jeju, Lotte City Hotel Jeju, Lotte Resort Jeju Art Villas, Lotte Skyhill CC Jeju) conducted an eco-friendly travel pledge campaign together with Jeju Tourism Organization, where guests signed pledges promising to use tumblers and minimize waste output.
At Saekdal Beach in the Jungmun district of Jeju, band Guckkasten’s Ha Hyun-woo, Lotte Hotel & Resort employees, and about 50 local residents participated in plogging. On the same day, Ha Hyun-woo and local young artists held a Re:Think concert to encourage participation in environmental protection in Jeju and support the dreams of local young artists.
At the year-end event, Lotte Hotel & Resort donated funds raised from the Korean Red Cross blood donation campaign as well as donations for disability awareness improvement and support for artistic activities. The event concluded the 2023 activities with invited performances by Jeju With Us Wind Orchestra, Jeju’s first integrated orchestra of disabled and non-disabled musicians, and the Soripunggyeong Children’s Choir. They resolved to expand their activities next year beyond Jeju to Lotte Hotel & Resort chains nationwide, including Seoul, Busan, and Sokcho.
