Emergency Room Roundabout 'Ends'... Gyeongnam Province Operates Nation's First 24-Hour 'Emergency Medical Situation Room'
On the 6th, Gyeongsangnam-do opened the Gyeongnam Emergency Medical Situation Room and became the first in the nation to begin its operation.
According to Gyeongsangnam-do, the Emergency Medical Situation Room was established to timely transfer emergency patients whose lives are at risk to hospitals and help them receive appropriate treatment.

The Emergency Medical Situation Room, which started operations on this day, serves as the command center (control tower) for the emergency medical system responsible for everything from patient transfer to diagnosis, surgery, and final treatment.
It is the first in the country to operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with four teams rotating shifts, each consisting of 12 members including 8 support staff and 4 firefighters.
Gyeongsangnam-do expects that by operating the Emergency Medical Situation Room, a collaborative system between the 119 rescue team and medical institutions will be established, enabling efficient response to emergencies and ensuring the safety of residents.
In 2024, they plan to build a Gyeongnam-type integrated emergency medical platform that allows for a comprehensive view of emergency patient occurrence, reporting, hospital selection, and transfer, as well as guiding emergency patient guardians to the transfer hospitals.

Governor Park said, “We opened the Emergency Medical Situation Room with the thought that there should be no cases of emergency room 'bouncing around' in our province. We will build an integrated system that can share real-time information on emergency room medical personnel status and strengthen cooperation with hospitals so that residents can receive timely treatment in emergency situations.”
