Geumcheon-gu Supports Electric Blankets for 220 Disaster-Vulnerable Households
Electric Blankets Provided to 220 Vulnerable Households Including Elderly Living Alone, Low-Income Families, and Single-Parent Families
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) will provide electric blankets to 220 households in disaster-vulnerable groups to minimize cold wave damage caused by the sudden cold snap.
The support targets vulnerable groups such as elderly living alone, low-income households, and single-parent families, with priority given to residents living in old housing facilities who are struggling with the cold.
The electric blankets are designed for two people and feature overheating prevention and overcurrent cut-off functions to prevent heating device fires during winter. They are scheduled to be distributed through the local community centers by December 15.
In addition to electric blankets, Geumcheon-gu plans to distribute promotional materials that provide ‘Cold Wave Preparedness Citizen Action Guidelines,’ including winter health management, cold wave precautionary health rules, and precautions when going outside.
