Hwasun-gun Wins 'Grand Prize' at Rural Resource Project Competition
Recognized for Achievements in Rural Resource Project's Dietary Life Sector
On the 5th, Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it won the 'Grand Prize' in the food life category of the 2023 Rural Resource Project Best Practice Competition organized by the Rural Development Administration.
This competition, promoted by the Rural Development Administration, was established to spread achievements by discovering best practices in rural resource projects that contributed to increasing farm income and improving the quality of life for farmers.
With participation from agricultural technology centers of cities and counties nationwide, evaluations were conducted based on indicators such as the degree of balanced regional development and the extent of identifying and solving local issues. After the first document screening and the second presentation screening, the Grand Prize was awarded.
The Agricultural Technology Center's initiatives, including ▲pilot projects for inheriting local food and traditional food culture ▲operation of the Hwasun Local Food School ▲education utilizing various types of Korean rice ▲and fostering the Hwasun Food Research Association, received overall high evaluations.
