Hwang Ui-jo (31, Norwich City), a national soccer team player accused of illegally filming private videos, is now under police investigation for allegedly recording a video call with another woman without her consent while he was exposed.
According to YTN's report on the 4th, during the investigation of Hwang Ui-jo's female victims, the police obtained related statements from another woman and have begun a legal review to determine whether additional charges for possession and storage of obscene materials can be applied.
According to the police, Woman A complied with Hwang Ui-jo's request to expose her body during a video call. Hwang Ui-jo used the phone's recording function to save the exposed video, which Woman A was unaware of until she recently confirmed it during the police investigation.
The police plan to investigate whether Hwang Ui-jo informed the victim about the recording after conducting forensic examinations of his phone and laptop. They also intend to investigate whether the video was distributed through other channels.
Additionally, the police have started a legal review regarding possible secondary harm caused by Hwang Ui-jo. Previously, Hwang Ui-jo claimed that he had consent from the woman regarding the illegal filming allegations and mentioned the woman's identity in detail, which drew criticism as secondary harm.
A police official stated, "We will keep various possibilities open and conduct a broad investigation if there is responsibility for secondary harm."
