ITCEN Group and Ajou University Join Hands to Train ICT Talent in Uzbekistan
ITCEN Group has joined hands with Ajou University and Ajou University in Tashkent (AUT) to nurture ICT professionals in Uzbekistan.
On the 5th, ITCEN Group announced that it had signed an industry-academia cooperation agreement with Ajou University and AUT based on this initiative. The signing ceremony, held on the 4th at Ajou University's Yulgok Hall, was attended by Kang Jin-mo, chairman of ITCEN Group, Kang Seung-woo, CEO of ITCEN, Choi Ki-joo, president of Ajou University, Han Ho, head of the AUT project team, and other officials from both institutions.
This agreement was established to provide domestic recruitment-linked programs to AUT electronic engineering students who are expected to graduate in June 2024, ahead of AUT’s first graduating class, which was founded locally in Uzbekistan under an agreement between Ajou University and the Uzbek government. ITCEN Group, supporting recruitment, was founded in 2005 by alumnus Kang Jin-mo. It is an ICT service specialist group with annual sales of approximately 3 trillion KRW.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲ joint research and operation of internship and employment programs in programming and cloud fields ▲ establishment of an industry-academia cooperation platform ▲ creation of a joint network to promote the exchange of the latest technologies and information ▲ exploration of additional cooperation measures.
Accordingly, ITCEN Group plans to select some students who have taken the AUT electronic engineering capstone design course (a field practice course where ITCEN Group proposes topics and participates in evaluations) as full-time employees to work at domestic subsidiaries within the group, such as Ssangyong Information & Communications, starting from September next year. While supporting subsidiary recruitment, the group also plans to establish a local corporation in Uzbekistan in the long term and expand the hiring of outstanding AUT talent annually.
Choi Ki-joo, president of Ajou University, said, “We thank ITCEN Group, an Ajou alumnus company, for providing opportunities for Uzbek youths dreaming of overseas advancement to start their careers as engineers in Korea,” and added, “We will do our best to support continuous ICT cooperation between Ajou University in Tashkent and ITCEN Group.”
Kang Jin-mo, chairman of ITCEN Group, stated, “Through this agreement, we aim for the excellent talents of Ajou University and AUT to grow into outstanding professionals together with ITCEN Group. We expect these talents to further develop into global top talents in the rapidly changing IT service market and greatly contribute to ITCEN Group and Ajou University.”
