Lotte Homeshopping Teams Up with Jjuyang to Sell Out 'Galbi Hamburg Steak'
Lotte Homeshopping announced on the 5th that it sold out 5,500 sets of Hamburg steak within 65 minutes after exclusively launching it through a mukbang collaboration linking TV home shopping and YouTube with the 9 million-subscriber YouTuber ‘Jjuyang’ on the 1st.
Lotte Homeshopping is strengthening its ‘multi-channel product provider’ strategy, selling differentiated products across various channels. In fact, the YouTube entertainment channel ‘Naenae Studio’ has recorded over 16 million cumulative views by presenting shows such as the benefit negotiation entertainment ‘Gangnam’s Dumdum’ and ultra-high-definition food manufacturing videos ‘Mongolism.’ The mobile TV platform ‘ELive’ launched the program ‘Hunnamdeul,’ where comedian Lee Sang-hoon sells limited edition toys, on the 23rd of last month. This time, collaborating with YouTuber ‘Jjuyang,’ Lotte Homeshopping introduced commerce-type content utilizing all its channels, achieving successful results with high responses from customers in their 30s and 40s.
On the day, Jjuyang appeared on TV home shopping for the first time to sell the home meal replacement ‘Jjuyang Galbi Hamburg Steak,’ made using the recipe from the restaurant he operates, ‘Original Jjuyang Donkatsu.’ Even before the broadcast, orders for more than 2,000 sets poured in, and the 5,500 sets prepared for the launch day sold out within 65 minutes. Participation in the real-time chat ‘Baro TV Talk’ increased more than threefold compared to regular food broadcasts. The proportion of customers in their 30s and 40s accounted for 40% of total buyers, showing a rapid influx of younger customers. The broadcast was simultaneously streamed on Lotte Homeshopping’s sales channels including TV and mobile, as well as on Jjuyang’s official YouTube channel.
