Samsung Electronics President Lee Won-jin Retires... Successor is Vice President Kim Yong-su
Lee Won-jin, head of the Service Biz Team in Samsung Electronics' Device Experience (DX) Mobile Experience (MX) Division and a former Google executive, is leaving Samsung.
According to business circles on the 4th, Samsung Electronics finalized its organizational restructuring and personnel appointments on the same day, completing the year-end personnel changes. Lee will retire, and the recently recruited Vice President Kim Yong-su will take over his position.
Lee, who is retiring, was formerly a senior vice president at Google and was recruited in 2014 as the head of the Service Business Team in Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Division. Vice President Kim has experience working at Oracle and Google in the United States.

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics plans to hold a global strategy meeting next week. The global strategy meeting is held every June and December, where key executives and heads of overseas subsidiaries gather to share issues by business division and region and exchange opinions on sales strategies. This meeting will discuss next year's business plans. The meeting will be chaired by Han Jong-hee, Vice Chairman and head of the DX Division, and Kyung Kye-hyun, President and head of the DS Division, respectively.
