Lawyer Arrested for Killing Wife in Mixed-Use Apartment in Jongno, Seoul (Comprehensive)
A lawyer formerly affiliated with a law firm was arrested by the police for killing his wife with a blunt weapon in an apartment.
The Jongno Police Station in Seoul announced on the 4th that they have urgently arrested and are investigating a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, on suspicion of murder.
According to the police, Mr. A is suspected of killing his wife, Ms. B, by striking her with a blunt weapon at a residential-commercial complex apartment in Jongno-gu, Seoul, around 7:50 p.m. the previous day. Ms. B received emergency treatment from the responding firefighters and was transported to a nearby hospital but ultimately passed away. It is understood that Mr. A himself reported to the fire department immediately after the incident that his wife had suffered a head injury.
After the crime, Mr. A left the house but returned with his daughter while the police were searching the scene. Under police interrogation, Mr. A confessed to the crime and was arrested at the scene around 9:30 p.m. He reportedly stated to the police, "The incident occurred during an argument due to financial issues and personality differences causing domestic discord."

The police have requested an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of death. A police official stated, "We plan to apply for an arrest warrant for Mr. A."
