Gumi-si Resolves Boundary Disputes and Landlocked Lots Between Neighbors... Increases Land Value
Seonsan Nosang and Wanjeon 1 District, 2024 Land Registry Re-survey Project Resident Briefing Session
Gumi City in Gyeongbuk held a resident briefing session on the 2024 cadastral resurvey project for landowners and stakeholders in the Nosang District and Wanjeon 1 District of Seonsan-eup at the Seonsan Cultural Center over two days on the 1st and 4th of this month.
The cadastral resurvey project is an initiative to create new cadastral records (land registers and cadastral maps) that reflect the current boundaries in areas where the existing records, created over 110 years ago during the Japanese colonial period land survey project, do not match the actual boundaries. Since 2013, the city has been conducting the cadastral resurvey project and has successfully completed 19 districts (7,700 parcels), receiving positive responses from residents.
The target area for this project, Seonsan town center, has experienced many inconveniences for landowners in exercising their property rights due to boundary disputes between neighbors, restrictions on construction activities, and landlocked parcels. The project will be implemented over two years from January 2024 to December 2025. More than 200 people participated in the resident briefing session, showing high interest in the cadastral resurvey project.
City Councilor Yang Jin-oh stated, “We hope for active participation from the landowners involved in the cadastral resurvey project, and the council will provide strong support during the project’s implementation.”
