View original imageHosted by the Appropriate Management Committee and the Appropriate Management Office, this event allowed all staff to communicate with each other through poster exhibitions and oral presentations of the medical quality improvement (QI) activities carried out throughout 2023, aiming to build a culture of medical quality enhancement and patient safety. Among a total of 20 departments, six departments were selected for oral presentations after preliminary review based on mid-term presentation results, clear improvement activities, and effective reflection of the activities in departmental work.
▲ Pharmacy Team (Medication Error Prevention Activities) ▲ Ward Nursing Team 2, Surgical Department (Standardized Intravenous Injection Management Activities) ▲ Internal Medicine Outpatient Nursing Team (Medical Quality Improvement through Diabetes Education Room & NST Activation) ▲ Operating Room (Improvement of Work Ability and Satisfaction through Video-Assisted Surgical Equipment Training) ▲ Ward Nursing Team 1, Surgical Department (Efficient Inpatient Nursing through Development of Self-Care Information Survey) ▲ Emergency Medical Center (Standardized Administrative Procedure Implementation and Waiting Time Reduction Activities) conducted oral presentations, and as a result of the evaluation, the Internal Medicine Outpatient Nursing Team in the Nursing Department was selected as the grand prize winner.
Additionally, from November 27 for five days, a QI competition poster exhibition was held in the first-floor lobby, promoting the activities not only to staff but also to visitors.
Based on the PDCA cycle methodology?Plan, Do, Check, Act?aimed at quality improvement, each department freely created posters covering the necessity of QI activities, problem analysis, core objectives, improvement strategies, and future management plans. Among a total of 16 departments, the Central Supply Room of the Special Nursing Team in the Nursing Department was selected as the grand prize winner through evaluation.

Lee Kwang-jae, Chair of the Appropriate Management Committee (Hospital Director and Endocrinology Specialist), said, “Due to COVID-19, the QI competition was conducted passively, but this year it was enriched with a poster exhibition.” He added, “As healthcare workers striving for the health of the local community, QI activities involve thinking and communicating about how to efficiently and systematically carry out preventive activities for patient safety in each of our roles. Ultimately, it is a meaningful activity that enables patients visiting Daedong Hospital to receive high-quality medical services.”
