167km Over Speeding in Downtown Seoul... Gu Ja-gyun, Chairman of LS Electric, Fined 300,000 Won
Gu Ja-gyun, chairman of LS Electric, was fined for driving a sports car at 167 km/h in downtown Seoul.
According to the legal community on the 1st, the Seoul Western District Court issued a summary order imposing a fine of 300,000 won on Chairman Gu, who was indicted for violating the Road Traffic Act the day before.
Chairman Gu is accused of speeding at 167 km/h while driving a sports car on Olympic Road on November 9 last year. The speed limit on that road is 80 km/h. Under the Road Traffic Act, driving more than 80 km/h over the maximum speed limit can result in criminal punishment. The Criminal Division 2 of the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Heo Seong-hwan) filed a summary indictment against Chairman Gu on the 24th of last month, imposing a fine of 300,000 won.

Meanwhile, the court issued a summary order imposing a fine of 5 million won on Kim, a manager of the same company, who was indicted for aiding a criminal. Manager Kim, who belonged to the LS Electric Support Innovation Team, was indicted for making a false statement during a police investigation in December last year, claiming that he was driving instead of Chairman Gu.
