Innovation Committee Officially Approves Reform Plan Sacrificing Leadership and Pro-Yoon Faction... In Yohan Requests "Please Recommend Me as Nomination Committee Chair"
On the 30th, the People Power Party Innovation Committee officially demanded that pro-Yoon (pro-Yoon Suk-yeol) lawmakers, party leadership, and senior lawmakers make the 'sacrifice' of either not running or running in difficult constituencies. Innovation Committee Chair In Yo-han declared that he would not run in next year's general election and also requested the party leadership to recommend him as the chair of the nomination management committee, which oversees nominations for the upcoming general election.
On the same day, the Innovation Committee held its 11th plenary meeting at the People Power Party headquarters and announced the 6th innovation proposal, which calls for sacrifices from pro-Yoon faction lawmakers, party leadership, and senior members. After the meeting, Oh Shin-hwan, a member of the Innovation Committee, said in a briefing, "Until now, the people have made sacrifices, but now it is time for the People Power Party to repay with sacrifice," adding, "To guarantee the sincerity of the innovation measures, we once again demand that the party leadership, senior lawmakers, and those close to the president show a sacrificial attitude by either not running or running in difficult constituencies in the general election."
Earlier, on the 3rd, the Innovation Committee had requested the People Power Party to make such sacrifices in the form of a recommendation. However, as no visible response was received afterward, they decided to demand sacrifices again in the form of an innovation proposal to be formally reported to the Supreme Council.
Oh, a member of the Innovation Committee, explained, "The recommendation was not reported to the Supreme Council, but since this innovation proposal has been approved, it is expected to be reported to the Supreme Council," adding, "It is generally scheduled to be reported by next Monday or Thursday." When asked if early dissolution was possible if the innovation proposal was not accepted, he replied, "Yes."
Before announcing the innovation proposal, Chair In requested the party leadership to recommend him as the chair of the nomination management committee. He said, "The public cannot accept a general response that the Innovation Committee's proposal will be passed on to the nomination committee," adding, "If the declaration to give full authority to the Innovation Committee is not empty talk, I hope to be recommended as the chair of the nomination management committee." He also stated earlier, "I will sacrifice myself first by giving up all elected office candidacies, including Seodaemun, in this general election," and added, "Please give me an answer by next Monday."

This appears to express his intention to personally oversee whether the contents of the innovation proposal are actually implemented in next year's general election nominations as the chair of the nomination management committee. Chair In had asked for the Innovation Committee members' understanding to announce prepared content in advance, but it is known that his request to be nomination committee chair was not shared with the Innovation Committee members beforehand.
