This amount represents a 41% increase compared to the 8.5 billion KRW secured last year. The selected contest project fields include ▲6 administrative support projects ▲17 digital and traditional market projects ▲12 welfare projects ▲5 environmental green space projects ▲3 urban management projects ▲2 safety and transportation projects, totaling 45 projects.
Earlier, the district established the ‘Plan for Discovering and Activating External Contest Projects’ at the beginning of the year to attract external funding and has been systematically managing contest projects with the goal of strengthening external competitiveness. The status of major government and Seoul City project contests was analyzed, and based on this, projects linked to the district’s main tasks and current issues were closely shared with related departments. In addition, support for contest material preparation, establishment of collaboration systems, and incentives for applications were provided to encourage participation in contests.
In particular, the district participated most actively in contest projects for revitalizing traditional markets and supporting small business owners, securing about 700 million KRW in national and city funds by being selected for 16 projects such as the ‘Specialized Market Development Project (Digital Traditional Market)’, ‘Our Neighborhood Store Artterior’, and ‘Traditional Market and Shopping District Revitalization (Fire Alarm)’.
Also, through the ‘Mok 3-dong Regional Shared Parking Lot Construction Project’, over 3 billion KRW was secured, which is expected to contribute to alleviating chronic parking difficulties in residential areas. Furthermore, the area around Sinmokdong Station was selected as the target site for the ‘Waterfront Vitality Hub Creation Project’, securing 3 billion KRW in city funds. Following a design contest early next year, the district plans to promote the Sinmokdong Station revitalization project connecting the waterfront station area and Anyangcheon Stream to enhance residents’ leisure activities and stimulate the local economy.
Moreover, by actively supporting the Korea Airports Corporation’s ‘Airport Noise Damage Support Contest’, three resident-friendly projects were selected: ‘Children and Youth Study Room Creation’, ‘School Route Pedestrian Environment Improvement Project’, and ‘Cultural Arts Festival for Noise-Affected Residents’, securing 170 million KRW in funding.
Additionally, the district’s ‘Establishment of a Traffic Accident Prevention System on Residential Roads Using Radar Sensors’ project was finally selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s ‘Region-led Smart City Regulatory Sandbox Support Project’, receiving 500 million KRW in national funding. This demonstration project, led by Yangcheon-gu from the planning stage, is expected to provide regulatory exemption benefits and find solutions to traffic accident issues on residential roads.
