Imsil-gun Begins Preparations for the 10th ‘Imsil N Cheese Festival’ Next Year

The Imsil N Cheese Festival, which achieved great success this year, has quickly begun preparations for next year’s festival, marking its 10th anniversary.

According to the county on the 29th, the Imsil N Cheese Festival Organizing Committee (hereafter the Committee) held a temporary general meeting the day before at the Jijeonghwan Hall in Imsil Cheese Theme Park and conducted a festival results report session.

At the temporary general meeting, about 30 people including County Governor Sim Min, committee members, the agency in charge, and policy support research contractors attended and reviewed the results of the 2023 Imsil N Cheese Festival, which was held for four days from the 6th to the 9th of last month at Imsil Cheese Theme Park, Imsil Cheese Village, and the Imsil-eup area.

The general meeting included comprehensive feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of the festival, and time was allocated to receive a report from the policy support research contractors on the results of efforts to increase local residents’ involvement in the festival.

Additionally, through in-depth exchanges of opinions among the committee members, it was finally decided and approved that the 10th Imsil N Cheese Festival in 2024 will be held for four days from October 3rd to 6th.

Earlier, the county had conducted opinion hearings and self-evaluations by department immediately after the conclusion of the 2023 Imsil N Cheese Festival regarding their respective responsibilities.

With the festival schedule confirmed through this temporary general meeting, the county plans to promptly proceed with detailed execution plans such as selecting the agency in charge.

The 10th 2024 Imsil N Cheese Festival plans to prepare flawlessly with programs that can develop one step further amid new challenges and ensure visitors can safely enjoy the festival grounds.

This year’s festival attracted the highest number of tourists since the inception of the Imsil N Cheese Festival. Even after the festival ended, the festival grounds were beautifully adorned with ten million chrysanthemum flowers and exotic nightscape lighting, captivating visitors and drawing many tourists throughout the chrysanthemum display period.

The county expanded the festival grounds to the entire Imsil-eup area, resulting in many visitors not only visiting the theme park but also the entire Imsil-eup area, significantly increasing local residents’ income and generating considerable direct and indirect economic ripple effects.

County Governor Sim Min said, “The great success of this year’s festival was contributed by the high involvement of local residents,” adding, “For the 10th Imsil N Cheese Festival next year, we will promote and encourage participation from the planning stage of the festival to increase local residents’ involvement, and discover and implement many new and special programs.”
