DK Asia Announces Creation of City of Light Through Royal Park City
- Completing the City of Light through the Coexistence of Natural Light and Nighttime Lighting
- Creating a ‘New Affluent District’ Accommodating 100,000 Residents
DK Asia announced its vision to create the most romantic city of light in the world by completing the Resort Special City, the most unique city in South Korea, blending nature’s light with nighttime illumination to embody nature, culture, and emotion. To achieve this, DK Asia signed another contract to enhance the lighting design competitiveness of Royal Park City at Geomam Station, following its previous collaboration with the Korea Lighting Designers Association, the nation’s top lighting organization composed of university professors and field experts.
Among major developers, DK Asia was the first to devote great effort to creating beautiful nighttime spaces using various lighting fixtures such as light color temperature, Milky Way lighting, and gobo lighting. Additionally, by developing signature lighting fixtures through in-house design and creatively handling light and illumination, DK Asia received acclaim for infusing romance into the Resort City with emotional landscape lighting at Geomam Station Royal Park City, South Korea’s first resort city.
DK Asia is further advancing its lighting technology to transform the Resort Special City, which will comprise a total of 21,313 households, and the pilot complex Wanggil Station Royal Park City into a city of light filled with beautiful night views and emotional illumination. For this purpose, the lighting in the Resort Special City is set to a color temperature of 3,000K (Kelvin), creating a subtle, soft, and warm atmosphere. To dramatically convey light at night and emphasize the scale and grandeur of Wanggil Station Royal Park City, vertical and indirect lighting are used to produce a modern and sophisticated exterior.
Furthermore, to create a differentiated urban landscape, the specialized gatehouse, which stretches 330 meters in total length and is grander and more splendid, features a “Gold line” concept emphasizing lines. To maximize the splendor of Incheon’s first curtain wall look, “Linear line” lighting with movement was applied.
DK Asia incorporated various color and effect lighting at water features that offer Royal Park City residents a luminous and leisurely life, as well as at key points of landscaping and architecture, allowing the residents’ emotions and stories to be expressed. Additionally, the private-themed walking paths feature diverse design-specialized lighting such as Royal Park City’s signature bollards, specialized object bollards for rest areas (decks), and object poles shaped like grapes, providing enjoyable strolls and romantic sights for the citizens.
The lighting of specialized community facilities is designed optimally for each space to provide a user-friendly indoor lighting environment, using lighting fixtures from internationally renowned brands recognized for their quality and design, such as Modular and Wever&Ducre. Moreover, the color temperature and illuminance are calculated according to the function and purpose of each space, including mom’s cafes and cafeterias, to provide the best lighting environment. Classic and luxurious decorative lighting will also enhance the nights of Royal Park City residents.
Inside each unit, South Korea’s first smart lighting with wireless dimming is applied, allowing Royal Park City residents to adjust the brightness, color temperature, and color of the lighting according to their lifestyle patterns and surrounding conditions, optimizing visual comfort and bodily rhythms. Dimming is an advanced lighting technology that adjusts lamp brightness to eliminate glare and create a comfortable lighting environment.
Kim Hyojong, Vice President and CEO of DK Asia, stated, “DK Asia will develop the city so that Royal Park City residents at Wanggil Station Royal Park City can take pride in living there by establishing a unique identity and authenticity for Royal Park City.” He added, “Royal Park City will be developed as a second city and emerging affluent area that embraces nature, culture, and emotion, accommodating 100,000 people from Seoul through the supply of 36,500 households in three phases at the gateway location of South Korea.”
