Gwangyang Economic Zone Authority Holds Meeting with Experts in Materials, Components, and Energy Sectors
Exploring Strategies for Corporate Attraction and Discovering Innovative Growth Engines
The Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Song Sang-rak, hereinafter GFEZ Authority) announced that on the 28th, it held the "2023 Materials, Components & Energy Sector Expert Group Meeting" at the Sono Calm Hotel in Yeosu to share industry and policy trends and industry information in the fields of materials and components, secondary batteries, and renewable energy, and to discuss investment attraction strategies.
Ten experts in the materials, components, and energy sectors attended the meeting, which began with presentations on "Current Status of the Secondary Battery Industry and Gwangyang Bay Area Corporate Attraction Strategy" and "Resource Circulation System for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment."
Following this, discussions were held on the secondary battery industry value chain and industrial ecosystem, solid-state battery technology development, waste battery recycling, and new industry trends in the energy sector, along with strategies to revitalize investment attraction in the Gwangyang Bay Area linked to these topics.
Additionally, there was a free discussion on detailed countermeasures to activate investment in GFEZ, including sharing technology trends related to silicon anode materials, solid-state batteries, and robotics, as well as environmental reviews necessary when attracting new investment companies.
Commissioner Song Sang-rak of the GFEZ Authority concluded the meeting by stating, "With the market expansion of materials, components, secondary batteries, and renewable energy, we will continuously strive to discover potential investment companies in new growth industries related to these fields in the Gwangyang Bay Area and lead the realization of investments, thereby steadily expanding new jobs and port cargo volume." He added, "We ask for continuous interest and support to revitalize investment in the Gwangyang Bay Area."
