SK Telecom announced on the 27th that it has signed an industry-academic cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Sejong University’s Graduate School of Metaverse Convergence, aiming to lead the global artificial intelligence (AI) and media content production paradigm.

The MOU signing ceremony held at Sejong University’s Daeyang AI Center was attended by key representatives from both sides, including Kim Hyuk, SKT Media Partnership Manager, Eom Jonghwa, Sejong University Vice President for Administration, and Song Hyungkyu, Head of the Graduate School of Metaverse Convergence. They agreed to join forces in nurturing global AI content talent.

Based on SKT’s expertise in establishing and operating a mixed reality (XR) specialized team studio, the company plans to jointly build a virtual studio equipped with a large LED wall capable of XR implementation on campus with Sejong University. Furthermore, both parties plan to continue industry-academic cooperation through various AI and XR education programs and joint research using the newly established virtual studio.
