Ministry of Economy and Finance and Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy Host 'Multilateral Development Bank Project Plaza'
The Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy will jointly host the '2023 Multilateral Development Bank (MDB) Project Plaza' from November 28 to 29 at the JW Marriott Hotel in Seoul.
Multilateral Development Banks are banks that provide funding for economic development in developing countries, involving multiple developing countries and donor countries, such as the World Bank (WB) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The MDB Project Plaza is an event designed to support Korean companies in entering the MDB procurement market, which exceeds $40 billion annually, to secure promising projects, and to promote the excellence of Korean companies to MDBs and various national project owners.
At this event, organizations such as the World Bank (WB) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will announce their procurement policy directions. During the project consultation sessions, domestic companies in engineering and construction will hold tailored one-on-one meetings with MDBs and national project owners for 24 projects (worth $6.6 billion) in the fields of energy, environment, and transport infrastructure. Additionally, representatives from various countries who directly commission MDB projects will attend to provide detailed explanations of specific projects and request participation from Korean companies.

In particular, this year, support will be provided for Korean companies' participation in Ukraine reconstruction projects through a briefing session. To this end, officials from the Ukrainian government, including the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Infrastructure, and the Railway Authority, as well as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Korea Export-Import Bank, will participate together to provide detailed explanations on project trends and financing policies.
