Ministry of Health and Welfare Enhances Convenience of Local Government Welfare Projects... Expands Open Market Platform
The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 27th that it will expand the operation of the open market platform from next year to enhance the convenience of welfare projects independently implemented by local governments. Local government welfare projects are social security systems operated with their own budgets based on local government ordinances. The open market platform is a system that supports administrative tasks such as application, income and property investigation, and benefit payment for local government welfare projects. Since its initial launch in 2010, it has supported the operation of 325 local government welfare projects to date.
The main contents of the expanded operation of the 'open market platform' include the expansion of task types (from 8 to 10), customized task support functions considering local government characteristics, and the introduction of seizure-protection accounts for local government welfare projects. The Ministry of Health and Welfare has additionally established two standard task types to select and support beneficiaries according to eligibility criteria without separate application procedures. One-time projects that were manually processed, such as holiday consolation money and heating cost support, will also be paid through the system.

Through this, support funds that were previously collected by visiting community centers can be directly received into seizure-protection accounts without submitting separate documents.
