On the 24th, Gumi City in Gyeongbuk held a kickoff briefing session for the 'Gumi City Agriculture and Rural Long-term Development Plan Establishment Project' in the small conference room of Seonsan Branch Office, attended by more than 30 people including officials from the Agricultural Technology Center and related township and town officials, to prepare for a major transformation of Gumi's agriculture and sustainable development.
Gumi City held a kickoff meeting for the long-term development plan establishment service for agriculture and rural areas.
View original imageAgriculture and rural areas are rapidly changing due to climate change, advances in 4th Industrial Revolution technologies, rural population decline, and aging farming households. The city plans not only to establish a statutory five-year plan based on the 'Framework Act on Agriculture, Rural Areas and Food Industry' but also, unlike other cities and counties, to prepare a 10-year future agricultural transformation plan from 2024 to 2033.
The plan will focus on establishing a mid- to long-term vision and strategy for Gumi's agriculture and rural areas, detailed execution plans, and practical feasibility by discovering government and Gyeongbuk provincial public project opportunities to realize these plans.
This agricultural transformation plan will actively collect opinions from stakeholders such as farming organizations, the food industry, and citizens, and will proceed over 10 months until August next year through interim and final reporting sessions.
