POSCO University Student Volunteer Group Shares Environmental Protection Achievements Over 5 Months
Beyond 16th Cohort Activity Presentation at POSCO Center
POSCO announced that its university student volunteer group, 'Beyond 16th Generation,' shared the achievements of this year's environmental protection activities at the activity presentation on the 25th.
During this activity, 50 members from 28 universities participated in projects such as creating Beyond Forests, producing endangered species companion plant kits, establishing public gardens at welfare facilities for the disabled, developing environmental board games, and conducting environmental camps.
Beyond is a university student volunteer group founded by POSCO in 2007. Every year, it conducts volunteer activities for about half a year targeting university students. This year, the 16th generation started activities focusing on environmental conservation. They continue environmental education and sharing activities through projects such as Green Camps and board game development.
At the activity presentation, Julian Quintart, co-founder of the Korea Foreign Volunteer Center and recipient of this year's Korea Green Climate Award, gave a special lecture.
Na Young-hoon, head of POSCO's Social Contribution Group, said, "Beyond has a launch ceremony but no closing ceremony," urging the members to continue their sharing activities in the future.
After completing the official activities of Beyond 16th Generation, POSCO plans to recruit members for the 17th generation in May next year. From next year, Beyond plans projects where members will carry out volunteer activities focusing on global climate crisis response and support for vulnerable groups.
